How much does windshield repair cost?
Lucky windshield repairs are not expensive. For a single smaller crack or chip the cost to repair a windshield should be around $30.
Actual cost can vary mostly based on size, number and type of cracks or chips. Small chip or crack a couple of inches in size is generally easy to repair and won’t take more than half an hour.

It’s highly unlikely you will ever pay more than $100 for a windshield repair, as any damage which would cost more than this amount would very likely require a full windshield replacement.
Do-it-yourself windshield repair kits
Very cheap way to repair your windshield is to purchase a DIY kit. DIY windshield repair kits cost $10 – $15 and are available in any auto parts store, or you can order them online.
DIY glass repair kits are not used by professionals, but they can do a good job on small chips, scratches, nicks and cracks. They are easy to use and you can save money by doing windshield crack repairs yourself.
Can car insurance pay for windshield repair?
In some states car insurance companies are required to pay windshield repair costs. Consult your state laws to see if that’s the case!
Some insurance companies also have optional road hazard insurance you may already be paying for. Your insurer may cover the full windshield repair expense unless you have bare minimum auto insurance. They may also charge a deductible or only cover a portion of the full cost.
